Kährs Group publishes 2025 Sustainability Update

Flooring company Kährs reports industry-leading decarbonisation and full CSRD compliance, with critical work ahead.

Kährs, with production facilities across four countries and distribution in nearly 70 markets, publishes its 2025 Sustainability Update. The update summarizes the company's 2025 Sustainability Statement, which forms part of its CSRD-compliant integrated annual report and has been subject to independent limited assurance.

The results show progress across Kährs’ key sustainability commitments:

  • Scope 1 and 2 emissions fell 92 per cent against the 2020 baseline, putting Kährs within reach of its SBTi-validated target of 95 per cent reduction by 2030.
  • All owned production sites now run on 100 per cent renewable energy, with 97% renewable energy consumption across global operations.
  • Scope 3 emissions reduced by 56 per cent against the same 2020 baseline, driven by collaboration with suppliers and improved data quality across the value chain.
  • 89 per cent of the wood Kährs sourced was within Chain of Custody schemes, up from 75 per cent in 2024.
  • 25,000 trees were planted through Kährs’ replanting subsidy programme.
  • REACH compliance across all products.
  • 100 per cent of relevant colleagues completed DEI training, up from 60 per cent in 2024.

Kährs also acknowledges areas requiring continued focus. Lost time injury frequency increased, the proportion of women in leadership fell, employee engagement only slightly improved, and circular solutions remain a priority across the full product range. The accountability in our transparency guides us in our strategy going forward.

“We are proud of the progress and equally committed to being honest about where we have more work to do,” said Therése Gerdman, Head of ESG at Kährs Group. “With regulations tightening and 2030 approaching, the cost of inaction is rising and maintaining momentum is not a choice, it is a business necessity.”

With four years remaining to 2030 and both regulatory requirements and customer expectations on transparency and climate action continuing to rise, the next phase is not optional. The decisions Kährs makes between now and 2030 will define the company’s long-term competitiveness, regulatory standing and customer relationships. The infrastructure is in place. The mandate is clear. The work continues.

Kährs' 2025 Sustainability Update is now available on Kährs Group’s website and is also attached to this press release. Read Kährs Sustainability Update 2025 here.

The independently assured CSRD-compliant Sustainability Statement was published within the Annual Report Kährs BondCo AB (publ) on April 16 2026 and is also available on Kährs Group’s website.
